Invisible voice
Installation for project by Michelle Dolgorukova
Visible_Invisible
Is a journey into the depth of the female soul into her thoughts, her body and into the internal split between what a woman shows to the world and
what remains hidden within.
It is a project about visible women and the problems that often go unnoticed.
About how outwardly may seem stable, strong visible while pain, fear, or untapped power remain invisible to everyone around.
SOCIAL PRACTICE PSYCHOLOGICAL PROJECT
This project explores personal stories and emotional experiences that affected the lives of women during moments when they no longer wanted to be themselves. Its central element consists of interviews and photographs in which the participants quite literally remove masks from their faces.

At the same time, some women wanted their voices to be heard and their stories to be told, while choosing to remain invisible and not participate in the photographic part of the project. In order for these experiences to be not only read, but also felt, an installation was developed.
The project constitutes the basis of Michelle Dolgorukova’s
Master’s research thesis.
The video documents a performance by Michelle Dolgorukova, in which she gives body voice, one by one, to the stories of the women who could not reveal their faces.
The installation incorporates birch trunks because the birch is a key symbol of Visible Invisible.
Each year, birch trees naturally shed their bark, revealing a renewed surface beneath.
This cycle of transformation and renewal became an important visual and conceptual reference for the project. It echoes the inner process explored in the interviews, where the act of
removing masks suggests the gradual unveiling of the self.
